Five Feathers Poetry Competition

Just FYI for all of you poets out there...

There is a Yahoo Group called 5 Feathers. It's run by a woman in South Africa that has started a temple of Corellian Wicca there. She puts out a monthly pulication (eZine) called the 5 Feathers eZine. It is an eclectic pagan eZine that I think many here would find interesting. Each month, however, she has a poetry contest. Here are the topics...

The topics for poetry that will be considered for the competition in Five
Feathers magazine are as follows:

Spiritual themes
Pagan themes
Nature themes

I appreciate that these are vast subjects, open to interpretation. Half of
the appeal is to experience these subjects through the interpretation of the
poet! Preference will be given to well constructed poems - in any form - and
particularly to poems that have depth which invites the reader to pauses and
to peel off the layers of the poem with every reading. The poem must be an
original, written by the poet who sends us the submission. Five Feathers and
our sponsor take no responsibility for material published by us, if not the
original work of the poet. The language of poetry submitted must be English.

Ensure that your poem has a title, followed by your name, copyright symbol
and date. Your poem remains your own. By submitting a poem for
consideration, you grant permission to Five Feathers to publish your poem if
selected by the judges for entry into the competition of the month.
Furthermore, poets who submit poetry for this monthly competition agrees to
grant Five Feathers the option to publish their poetry in a hard-copy volume
if the opportunity arises in the future for us to do so. In the event that
your poem has successfully been selected to appear in Five Feathers, it will
automatically have been accepted as one of our semi-finalists for that
particular issue. The winning poem will be announced in the following issue
of Five Feathers. The winning poem will also be published on our sponsor's
website
http://www.tglass.net and will be awarded a prize of $50.00 in the
form of a gift voucher offered the sponsor, which will enable the winner to
select a prize to this value from the sponsor's website.

Blessings & good luck!
