  Raven,

As a slight aside which you may be interested in....ever heard the story of the ravens at the tower of london?

There was once a welsh king called Bran....legendary national hero....who when he died had his head buried on tower hill (now site of tower of london) ledgend has it that if britan was to be invaded he would rise to protect this land...Bran is a Celtic form of what we would call a raven....hence the tail that should the ravens ever leave the tower of london then england would fall.

Elm, does that story have anything to do with the Arthurian legend wherein King Arthur lies sleeping until needed again by his people? Just curious. I think I may make a section for local legends and stories, just for kicks.

Does anyone know the meaning of a cougar in your dreams?  This has just happened recently, and it was followed by the death of a very close family memebetr(grandmother)...but as far as I know the cougars was always a good animal both in drerams and in real life(although I would'nt want to meet one upclose)

I didn't find anything in any of the shamanism books that I have, so any help would be apreciated.  Also this was part of a much greater dream, which if anyone wishes to know about I will tell you(but only if an elder or Shaman).  for this is what I have been told that you only reveal dreams to elder's.

Well, I haven't really studied Shamanism yet (I'm still debating over a couple books), but I pulled up a dream dictionary, and this is what I found...

Cougar....To see a cougar in your dream, symbolizes wild beauty, power, grace, and raw emotion. It often refers to feminine power and aggression. Alternatively, it also indicates lurking danger and death.

Don't know if that helps any, but just thought I'd toss it out there. If you'd like the site I got it from, just ask and I'll post it.

(shivers to myself)  Well here is the really frightening thing of all Heidi, after I had this dream about the cougar I got a call from my older borther Rcik a few days later to tell me that my grandmother had crossed over.  I have felt some ovious sadness and pain over her death, but at the same time allot of comfort in her passing.  I was once told that dreams happen for a reason and they oviously do.  Yes this is the reason that I haven't been around to talk or visit with anyone recently, and for that I feel very very bad.  But I will see you all this weekend...what I have learned form all of this is really simple.  Life is a circle and you have allot of aquaintances in your life but very few freinds.  the true friends that you have you hold onto for dear life becuase they are so precious and so few.  It's when you get to the point that you stop feeling or stop caring that you have to take a step or two back and look at who and what you are.  Tahnks for being my friends and second family, we are not alone if we have and hold on to each other for as long as possible.  Namaste

I guess that sort of makes sense then. One...it could have been representing the feminine power, beauty, and grace of your grandmother while also signifying her passing. Maybe in a way it was her letting you know she passed on.

I'm just tossing theories out. Don't mind me.

When I meditate, I always see wolves and unicorns, now you have listed the meaning of wolves, but May I ask what the unicorn means if anyone know's.

I don't know if my totem animal is the wolf or the unicorn, is it possible to have both?
