Hi. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to anyone that does not already know me.
I'm Rev. Heidi Andrews. Co-founder and V.P. of CEPF. I am currently a 25-yr-old mother of 2, a boy and a girl, and have, for the past 7 years, been married to Rev. Dave. (Hi dear. Why are you being nosey? Butt out, you already know me....You live with me.)
I was raised in the proverbial "Smalltown, USA". My father worked 40 hours a week while my mother stayed home and took care of me. I was never "introduced" to religion as a child. I stumbled upon a few churches, which my parents didn't seem to mind, nor did they encourage, but it didn't take me very long to figure out that I was an outsider and didn't belong within those circles. I was fairly well behaved, got good grades in school, and for the most part, had a close, tight-knit circle of friends.
As I grew older, we moved to Smalltown-B....Smallertown. This place practically rolled up it's sidewalks at about 5-6pm. This move came after a very rough point in my parents marriage that almost ended in a divorce. So after reconciliation, both of my folks "found" religion. Promptly every Sunday morning, they woke, dressed nicely, and headed off to the local Methodist Church. Despite strident efforts (of which only 1 worked - Easter - after which they realized the futility of forcing me to go as I had a tendency to embarrass them), my folks could not succeed in getting me to "find" their religion for myself.
Around the time in entered high school, a new world started opening up for me. I met a lot of new people, and started discovering a whole host of new ideas and ways of thinking that seemed more in tune with how I instinctively felt things worked. I started doing a little research here and there, all done absolutely quietly lest my parents discover what I was up to and have a caniption (ca-nip-tion) fit. Soon I was skirting the borders of witchcraft and paganism.
I had friends that "claimed" to be able to do spells, had "magickal" powers, yadda yadda yadda. But after listening and observing their actions and comparing those to my notes, I soon discovered the ever famous "posers" and "wannabees." The "Crafters". Being somewhat disillusioned by my "friends", my studies waned until about 1996, when I first met Dave.
Now, please understand that when we first met, I had no idea what Dave's beliefs were, nor he mine. All I was aware of was a strange connection that seemed to exist between us (at least for me anyway Yes, Dave's probably still reading this and laughing his butt off oh well). He'll try to tell you I just cared about his cute butt. :P Well, for that year we went our separate ways never knowing if we would meet again.
Another year comes and goes and finds us face to face one more time. Fate, you ask? Who knows? Maybe just dumb luck. ( I love you! *wink wink*) In what has finally been admitted was an attempt to scare me off ( again), Dave told me about his pagan beliefs, which didn't shock me in the least. About a month later, I left home, moved in with Dave, and the rest, as they say, is history.
In the past 7 years, I've studied many different subjects. Of course I started with one of the most prevalent pagan subjects, Wicca, but have also studied Dragon Magick, Faery Magick, Witchcraft, some natural magick, among other things. Upon the creation of CEPF, I began building what I hope is an informative and pleasant looking website. I look forward into it and the Church growing in the future, and look forward to meeting many new and interesting people and having a good time with all the old hats. *wink wink*
