A New Light

As some of you may or may not know, I was at one time an extremely devout Christian. I was what many now refer to as a “fundie”. After having left the Christian faith, I had much animosity towards it as a whole to say the least. Not towards the people who follow such paths, but for the doctrine.

As it is now, I no longer have the same detest for the doctrine as a whole when looked upon in a certain light. NO, I do not accept Jesus as a Christ or JHVH as the one and only god, whom if you do not worship, you will burn for eternity. However, after speaking with Rev. Dave Andrews about certain aspects of Christianity, my views have changed somewhat.

Many of you may have heard my view on god. That god is neither good or evil male or female, and that all gods regardless of the name by which they are called are simply reflections of the ego and/or current desires of that person.

In that light, I must concede that Christianity is a valid path, for those who choose it, IF, it does not infringe upon other peoples right to religious freedom. What I’m saying is the god they acknowledge is their view of the life source, no different from my idea of the life source except for the mythology associated with it.

Again I stress that I do not accept their dogma but have gained a new respect for their religious right to believe and worship as they choose. NO, I do not believe they have the right to PREACH YOU INTO HEAVEN OR HELL, but if we, as representative of CEPF are to truly carry out the mission statement, that ALL paths are welcome here, and that we are to build unity among differing paths, then we must not only embrace them, but be willing to associate with them, that through cooperation and respect their misconceptions about us can be removed along with the many misconceptions many pagan have about them.

Thank you Rev David Andrews for helping me to get past at least part of my resentment for their doctrine. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t offer a rebuttal against them if my path were attacked. I would simply offer it in a more pleasant way.

Ave! and Namase.

*Pictures Messiah rebutting in a 'more pleasant' way.*

Does that mean you won't be holding a sharp blade in one hand and a headless chicken in the other?

Hehehe...I know, I know. Tasteless joke. But I've seen you. I still think the Xians will run screaming, lol.

Luv ya!! (Don't hurt me! hehe)

Hello messiah,

I totally agree that we as representatives should be more tolorant and more knowledgeable of the christian faith. And as much as the chip on my shoulder about christianity has healed over only to be reopened at points in my life, I have learned to not only respect the religion itself but to embrace it as well. I know that if i dont then i can not grow in my own beliefs and path. Blessings,Angel
