Divination

I thought it might be a good idea to put up a divination topic on the main board here since the subject falls under many different headings and paths. It would be interesting to see others points of views on this subect and their own personal experiences and/or tools they use in divination.

Brightest blessings,

Hello

I have a few experiences with divination, most of them involveing my Egyptian Tarot or Celtic Animal Oracle cards.  Not really into divination in a big way, but I have quite a bit of casual experience.  i think that the weridest stuff is the accuracy with which it can detail problems that people are facing, as i most commonly do requested readings for my friends if they feel that they are in a rut but do not know why.

It is a veyr interesting area of study, but not really my forte.  i hope that more people start replying soon!

I've been studying my tarot deck and trying to get a better feel for it. I'm not sure if I'm ready for it yet though. I think it'll let me know when I am, lol. I do have a pack of rune cards that I worked with for a little bit. They were ok, but they just weren't for me, at least not in card form. Maybe if I had them in stone form, it would feel differently.

While I know dowsing rods aren't execlusively used for divination, I figured a question about them would fit well enough in here... How do you guys feel about the materials they should be composed of? Does it matter? One source recommended to just use coat hangers to bend into shape, but a friend of mine says copper's the best material. Now I know that a lot of people use copper tubing for wands, so would copper dowsing rods be better than the average metal coat hanger?

I'm not sure, but I think most of the metal clothes hangers are made of copper. Probably why they're so flexible But I'm not sure. I don't do much with dowsing. I would like to get or make a pendulum in the near future, but so far I've only worked with tarot cards and rune cards.

Hiya Waterglyph! I didn't see ya sneak on board ^-^

Concerning dowsing rods: I highly reccomd copper. I don't have much experience with them (other than that other night, that was the first time I ever saw them). But I have read lots on wands and such and copper is a popular material 'cause it's conductive.

If you can make a set out of coathangers that work fine enough, that's okay.
