Be prepared. Bless yourself with Earth, Fire, Wind and Water exactly at midnight. Kindle your fire; it does not have to be beneath a cauldron. If you have nothing else, you can use a candle flame; or use a bundle of pine splinters tied together. Stand before the flame in a Pentagram position.  Now invoke your Diety.

"Ancient of ancients,

rayed in beauty,

lustful with power,

hurry to me.

Without thy light and warmth,

I shall surely die.

"Tis Candlemas and I await thee.

Warm the sleeping seed within the belly of our Mother Earth,

Quicken and comfort me,

renew my strenght.

Look, I have kindled a fire of welcome,

my fire burns brightly.

Sustain my horn of power,

in your strength and wisdom.

I do faithfully serve thee.

Hasten and warm my cold and frozen land.

I bid thee welcome."

Rest and meditate until the dawning of the morning light. Stroke the fire. Light the torch. The Ancient One returns. His horns rise from the sea. His firey flame burns on the far horizon. Stand and bid him welcome.
