Fire's simple spell on Imbolc

This is my simple spell for Imbolc. As Imbolc spells are for rejuventation, I have come up with this for myself and I am sharing it with you.

Items needed:

Comfy cloths, blankets, if outside, incense (basil, bay, wisteria, cinnamon), and altar tools that you feel comfy with (i.e. - white flowers, candle wheels, besoms), Herbs (violets, Iris, Myrrh, Angelica, Blackberry), Foods (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, muffins, onions, garlic, raisins) drinks (herb teas), colored candles (red, pink, white, greens), stones (Garnet, amethyst, bloodstone, ruby, onyx, turquoise), a small bag (preferrably one that has been made out of things that can be recycled to the Earth (ie. I make mine out of newspapers), your notebook with your answers to these questions - What is it that you wish to renew? What are the steps that you need to take to accomplish this? Can you clearly see yourself in the success of this? Would you be willing to work on this? For how long?

Get into comfortable, loose fitting clothing or whatever way you are comfortable. If you wish to have a sacred circle - please cast one. You are going to prepare what you need and be ready at least 1 hour before the sun begins to rise.

You are going to connect to the Earth and the Elements with this spell. While sitting on the floor, or outside if you can stand it - face yourself to the rising sun - here for me it is the East. Arrange the incense to the East (Air) and add to it your altar tool (pick on that represents renewal to you or place a craft that you may be have made for Imbolc). Next, to the West (water) you are going to place your herbal teas or bevereage. To the North (Earth) place your food. Then finally to the South (Fire) place your candles. Then in the center - place what you feel represent the male / female aspects and any other of your altar tools you wish, also place your herbs, and stones. When all of this is assembled, you are ready. Get out the answers to the questions asked earlier. During the meditation, clearly defined your answers.

Meditation:

You feel yourself grounding and centering. Your body feels light and you are relaxed. Imagine yourself. The way your hair is. Your clothing. The way that you walk. The way you stand. Imagine your face. The contours of its lines. Your eyes, the way they sparkle. The color of them. Their depth. Imagine your mouth. The way you smile. Imagine your whole body and keep this image as clear as possible in your minds eye. You will now move purposely to the next area of your life. The day is bright and sunny. It is warm out. The birds are singing around you. Making joyous noises. You realized that it is Spring. Now, you see a patch of woods ahead of you. They make a canopy around a small smooth rock in the center. You walk through the woods and sit upon the rock. You feel the coolness upon you and the silent stability of the rock beneath you. Let the warm breeze blow thru you and listen to the sound of the birds. You now know what it is that you wish to renew within you. Concentrate on that. Imagine all of the steps that you need to take to succeed. Clearly see yourself going thru the steps, one at a time, accomplishing them successfully. Take your time. Imagine them clearly as they are happening to you. If there are smells, let your senses take them in. You need to feel everything, see everything, taste and react to everything. See yourself accomplishing all that there is. This is you doing this, no one else. You are succeeding. You work through any obstacles there may be. Slowly and methodically until there are no other obstacles present in the way of your success. Rest awhile and enjoy the feeling of your success. Revel in it. You have succeeded in what you have planned to do.

When you are ready, slowly raise yourself from the rock and walk back out of the woods to where you entered. Breathe in deeply the smell of Spring and know that you are ready to return to conquer what you have put before yourself. Slowly, you feel the ground beneath you. It cool feeling. Its hardness. You feel your body now; your face, neck, arms, back, chest. Your waist, legs and feet. When you are ready, open your eyes. Look at the rising sun. Feel within it the sense that Spring has returned. Now - to the East - light your incense; you may say a few words if you wish; the incense carries your wishes of renewal to the four corners of the world and to your Diety. Then to the West - take a sip of your herbal tea (or whatever you have) and feel the way it warms you to your soul, this is the drink of determination. Then to your North - take a nibble of your food, feel it nourish you, this is the food of substance to your convictions. Next, to your South - light your candles this is the flame of your desire to renew. Then the center of your Circle; take the bag that you made and place within it your herbs, rocks, a bit of food, a bit of drink, a few ashes of your incense, and a bit of your candle wax. As you close this small bag, make the promise to yourself that you will renew that which you have set out to. Now dig a small hole in the center of your circle and place the bag into it and cover it again. Next, take your notebook and write the answers to your questions as you feel they are from your meditation. Keep this notebook with you as you succeed along your renewal to remind you what you have done.

Stay and enjoy the beauty that lies before you as long as you wish.

Brightest Blessings on your journey.
