I don't know exactly what I want to say but I will try.
I am just starting to learn about paganism and am trying to get into it more. I wasn't raised in any particular religion - I was baptised Catholic but that was probably the last time I went to church. I am interested in paganism now because the more I learn about it, the more I think "Well heck, I already believed that, and here is a religion that believes it too!" I see most religious stuff as symbolic, even pagan ideas, but since we have to translate it all into something we can actually understand, I might as well find a "translation" I like, right?I have only read a few books about it and a few websites though, so I am an EXTREME newbie. I will probably be asking a lot of questions!
So far what I have been leaning toward most is ecletic paganism, and my idea of God is very similar to the Rev. Dragon's Blade's idea (from what she posted in the gods/goddesses forum). I haven't felt comfortable or knowledgable yet to celebrate any holidays or work on spells/magick/praying/meditation - that is another reason I am looking for a community, so I can learn stuff before I try to be on my own.
Other than that, I am 22, I graduated from college last May and am working full-time now. I'm still living at home so I can save money. I have a boyfriend (maybe married to him someday, we will see), no kids, no pets (I am never around to take care of any, and half my family is allergic). I like my family and have great friends, most of which I met in high school. The latest and most interesting thing I have to talk about is that I volunteer at a nature center on the weekends. I get to watch & count birds, walk around in the woods, and eventually take care of bluebird nesting boxes. I am pretty excited about that!
So that's me, I look forward to harassing you all with questions in the future!
Hello and welcome! Can't wait to get harassed by you!
Your volunteer job sounds really awesome. I bet you'll have fun with the blue birds :)
