you know I noticed something... I was looking on aol and noticed the recap of the late catholics popes funeral ...well they used the word ritual and so why can they use it and nobody thinks nothing is evil and than a wiccan uses the word and its taken as evil?..just a thought..

I actually got into a minor tiff over something like that on a forum for my city. This area is very Christiany, so it's a very good place to go to have some light arguing :)
I brought up a side point from an article I posted. I said that prayer and spells go hand in hand, there are rituals in both paganism and Christianity, etc etc. Basically I was listing all the similarities between words, word usage and definition. It's all interchangeable, really.
I think that topic started when I scared the !@#$ out of a lady who said "I wouldn't want my kids practicing magic" or something like that. My reply was something along the lines of "Then you shouldn't allow them to go to church, or to pray"
Of course, she didn't understand what the #$%^ I was talking about, so I gave her my above examples. Needless to say, there were not comforting thoughts.
I did manage to shut up the local idiot with what I said, though.
